Exhibitions and Events

Fri                      March  4 - April 8, 2022

4                       Unfolding Stories:  Visions by Contemporary Women Artists

Campus Commons Gallery, University of Northern Colorado   201 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans, LA 70170

Storytelling is about recounting personal or collective tales. It is likewise a way to connect or express vulnerability. Stories
can also educate and touch upon cultural experiences, identity, and values. This exhibition is about the stories that unfold
around encounters and works by contemporary women artists. As we celebrate March as Women’s History Month, we
collected narratives that stretch the boundaries and bonds of womanhood, expressed either through their letters, paintings,
sculptures, voices, books, or abstract concepts. As their stories unfold, so do their visions and voices, in an inclusive and
intersectional manner, many times subverting ideas of gender and questioning what it means to be identified as a woman
or to occupy the role of a storyteller.

Unfolding Stories features an array of diverse voices, including the work of Ellamaria Foley-Ray, who will also lead a
storytelling workshop at the end of March, and the work of Esther Hernandez (installation photo below). The
international roster of female artists also includes
Farima Fooladi, Simone Osthoff, Rochelle Johnson, Brenda

Stumpf, Kaitlyn Tucek, Mattie Cox, Tayz Enriquez, Chelsea Kaiah, and more.

Sat                      January 8 - March  29, 2022

8                        UNFORGETTABLE

Stella Jones Gallery  201 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans, LA 70170

We are happy to present a group exhibition of four artists (Ron Bechet, Richard Dempsey, Morris Taft Thomas, and Ellamaria
                                     Foley-Ray)
whose individual work is not only UNFORGETTABLE but also underscores art’s ability to influence, empower, and remain
                                     relevant.
They each explore and confront personal and collective experiences, Black culture, and identity.

Fri                              October 15 - November  29, 2021

15                         Art to INSPIRE and HEAL

Stella Jones Gallery  201 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans, LA 70170

This year the New Orleans Arts District's directive was to focus on art's ability to nurture, to reflect, to speak, to inspire, and to heal.
We have achieved this with a diverse selection of artiest who delve into American culture, past, and present.  With a collection of
the most influential artist of our time, we proudly present “Art to INSPIRE and HEAL.”
